Scholarship Opportunities at Empower Uganda

At Empower Uganda, we believe that education should be accessible to all. We offer a range of scholarships designed to support talented and dedicated students in pursuing their academic dreams. The Nelson Mandela Leadership Scholarship

This prestigious scholarship is awarded to outstanding students who demonstrate exceptional leadership potential and a commitment to community service. The scholarship covers full tuition fees, accommodation, and a monthly stipend.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Must be a Ugandan citizen.
• Must have completed Senior Six with excellent grades.
• Must demonstrate leadership experience through involvement in extracurricular activities or community projects.
• Must submit a compelling essay outlining their leadership aspirations and commitment to making a positive impact on Uganda.

The Grace Akello STEM Scholarship for Women

Named in honor of Grace Akello, a pioneering Ugandan scientist, this scholarship aims to encourage more women to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields. The scholarship provides financial support for tuition, books, and research opportunities.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Must be a female Ugandan citizen.
• Must be admitted to a STEM program at Empower Uganda.
• Must demonstrate a strong academic record in science and mathematics.
• Must submit a personal statement explaining their passion for STEM and their career goals.

The Rural Education Access Scholarship (REAS)

This scholarship is specifically designed to support students from rural and underserved communities in Uganda. REAS aims to provide opportunities for bright students who may face financial barriers to accessing quality education. The scholarship covers tuition fees and provides additional support for transportation and learning materials.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Must be a Ugandan citizen residing in a rural area.
• Must have completed Senior Four with good grades.
• Must demonstrate financial need through a detailed application form.
• Must provide a letter of recommendation from their local school or community leader.

The Vocational Skills Development Scholarship

This scholarship supports students pursuing vocational training programs at Empower Uganda. It aims to equip students with practical skills and knowledge that are in high demand in the Ugandan job market. The scholarship covers tuition fees, tools, and equipment costs.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Must be a Ugandan citizen.
• Must be admitted to a vocational training program at Empower Uganda.
• Must demonstrate a passion for learning a specific trade or skill.
• Must submit a portfolio showcasing any previous experience or projects related to their chosen field.

General Application Procedure:

1. Download the scholarship application form from our website.
2. Complete the application form accurately and thoroughly.
3. Gather all required documents, including academic transcripts, letters of recommendation, and a personal essay or statement.
4. Submit your application form and supporting documents by the specified deadline to the appropriate email address for each scholarship.
5. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview.
6. Successful applicants will be notified of their scholarship award within four weeks of the interview.
